Aim of the game: Be the player to win the most cards.
Set-up:
Position the vegetable patch board in the centre of the players.
Each of the players takes a turn placing one tortoise on a fruit or vegetable on the board, naming the colour of the tortoise and the fruit or vegetable on which they have placed the tortoise.
The players have to try to memorise the fruit or vegetable that sits under each tortoise.
How to play:
When all 5 tortoises have been positioned on the board, the youngest player starts.
The player turns over a card.
• If the card shows a tortoise, the player calls out what they think that tortoise is eating. Their answer is checked by lifting up the tortoise.
- If their guess is correct, the player wins a card and returns the tortoise to its original position.
- If they have guessed incorrectly, no action is taken, and the card is placed aside. The player returns the tortoise to its original position.
• If the card shows a fruit or vegetable, the player calls out the tortoise under which they think that fruit or vegetable is hidden. Their answer is checked by lifting up the tortoise they have identified.
- If their guess is correct, the player wins a card and returns the tortoise to its
original position. - If they have guessed incorrectly, no action is taken, and the card is placed aside.
The player returns the tortoise to its original position.
Play then passes to the next player, who draws a card in turn.
Please note: The game ends when the deck has been used up.

The winner is the player with the most cards at the end of the game.
